THE STORY OF PROPHET SULAIMAN (PBUH)
Sulaiman was the son of Prophet Dawud (David). Dawud was the wise King of Israel and a noble Prophet of Allah (SWT). Sulaiman learnt from his father’s vast knowledge and judgement and frequently joined his father during sounds. He was an bystander and learned from him and sometimes contributed to the discussion.
One day Prophet Dawud called his 19 sons in front of the chiefs and academic scholars of his area. He also put forth the following questions
1. Which thing is closest (nearest) to man?
2. Which is the furthest thing?
3. Which two effects are attached to each other?
4. Which is the utmost admiration-creating thing?
5. Which two effects remain unchanged?
6. Which two effects are always different?
7. Which two effects are opposed to each other?
8. What's the action the result of which is good?
9. What's that action the result of which is bad?
The sons of Prophet Dawud came flustered and could n’t answer these questions. The youthful of the sons, Sulaiman stood up and gave the following answers
.
1. The nearest effects to a man is the hereafter ( Life and Death – as one may die any moment);
2. The furthest effects is the time which has passed away (which isn't to come again);
3. The two effects that are attached to each other is man’s body with the soul;
4. The utmost admiration-creating is the man’s body ( dead) without soul;
5. The two effects which remain the same are the sky and the earth;
6. The two effects which are different are the day and night;
7. The two effects which are opposed to each other are life and death;
8. The action – the end of which is good – is tolerance and forbearance at the time of wrathfulness;
9. The action – the end of which is bad is haste at the time of wrathfulness.
Impressed by these answers Prophet Dawud appointed his son Sulaiman to take charge following his death. So, with the end of time Sulaiman inherited the area of Israel and was tagged by Allah to continue his Prophethood. He solicited his Lord for a area that would do to none after him. Allah granted Sulaiman his want and bestowed upon him numerous cautions, like the capability to control the wind which he used to travel at inconceivable pets; the jinns which were under his command and a bobby mine with which he used to make artillery. He was indeed blessed with the capability to communicate with creatures. The Quran makes citation of this
Prophet Sulaiman and his legion of men, jinns and catcalls, “ came upon the vale of the ants, an ant said, “ O ants, enter your residences that you not be crushed by Sulaiman and his dogfaces while they perceive not.” So (Solomon) smiled, regaled at her speech, and said, “ My Lord, enable me to be thankful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You authorize. And admit me by Your mercy into (the species of) Your righteous retainers.” Surah Naml Ayat 18-19
In his charge as a Prophet of Allah, Sulaiman erected a prominent place of deification — the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. From there Sulaiman and his followers made passage to Makkah. On completion of their Hajj, they travelled to Yemen where Sulaiman witnessed the Yemeni’s inconceivable water channelizing medium. He asked to replicate this system in his own land, but knew that they had inadequate springs. Determined to find a way, Sulaiman set about looking for the Hoopoe raspberry, which had the capability to descry water resistance. But the raspberry was nowhere in sight. Sulaiman who grew decreasingly intolerant blatted, “ Why do I not see the Hoopoe raspberry – or is he among the absent? I'll surely discipline him with a severe torment, or butcher him, unless he brings me a clear reason!
Ahead long, the Hoopoe returned to his master with great news. But the hoopoe stayed not long and said, “ I've encompassed (in knowledge) that which you haven't encompassed, and I've come to you from Sheba with certain news. Indeed, I plant (there) a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all effects, and she has a great throne. I plant her and her people prostrating to the sun rather of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and prevented them from (His) way, so they aren't guided, (And) so they don't prostrate to Allah, who brings forth what's hidden within the welkin and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare-Allah – there's no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne.” Surah Naml Ayat 22-26
Prophet Sulaiman said, “ We'll see whether you were veracious or were of the prevaricators. Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Also leave them and see what ( answer) they will return.” Surah Naml Ayat 27-28
The Hoopoe raspberry flew back to Belkis's palace and dropped Sulaiman’s letter before her. He soon hid and watched what happed. Having noticed the letter, Bilkis began reading it, “ Verily! It's from Solomon. It reads ‘In the Name of Allah, the Utmost Beneficent, the Utmost Merciful; be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims.”
Bilkis incontinently summoned her chiefs and sought their advice. They replied, “ We've great strength, and great capability for war, but it's for you to command; so suppose over what you'll command.” Bilkis, still, wasn't in favour of war as they were ignorant of the size of Sulaiman’s army. She answered, “ Verily! Lords, when they enter a city, they pillage it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low.” She decided, as a commemorative of fellowship, to shoot Sulaiman some precious gifts through her couriers, who could also bring back information about Sulaiman’s army.
Sulaiman incontinently learnt of Bilkis’s response through the Hoopoe. He decided to display the muscle of his army to her couriers. When the couriers arrived, all of Sulaiman’s army complete with creatures, similar as Napoleons and barracuda, catcalls, men and jinn, gathered before them. Bilkis’s couriers were indeed stunned by the size and variety of Sulaiman’s legion. His inimitable strength was prestigious.
The couriers eagerly presented Bilkis’s gift to Sulaiman with a pledge of fellowship. Sulaiman replied, “ Will you help me in wealth? What Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay, you rejoice in your gift!” Sulaiman also turned to the chief of her couriers and instructed “ Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they can not repel, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased.” Shocked, the couriers soon returned to their Queen and conveyed Sulaiman’s communication together with an account of the nobility of Sulaiman’s area.
Bilkis decided to meet Sulaiman in person, together with her officers. On entering this news, Sulaiman decided to show Bilkis and her officers the power of the cautions bestowed to him by Allah. He asked his army, “ Which of you can bring me Bilkis’s throne before they come to me, surrendering themselves in obedience?” Ifrit, one of the important jinns, incontinently responded to Prophet Sulaiman, “ I'll bring it to you before you rise from your place. And verily, I'm indeed strong and secure for similar work.” (2730)
But Sulaiman remained silent, awaiting a better offer. Another jinn with knowledge of the Good Book spoke up, “ I'll bring it to you before your regard returns to you.” And when (Solomon) saw it placed before him, he said, “ This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I'll be thankful or ungrateful. And whoever is thankful – his gratefulness is only for (the benefit of) himself. And whoever is ungrateful – also indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous.” (2740)
“ I'll bring it to you within the shake of an eye!” And in a split second the throne of Bilkis was brought from across country miles to Prophet Sulaiman. Sulaiman himself was amazed by the phenomenon Allah had given him and praised his Lord immensely. Sulaiman also instructed the jinn, “ Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she'll be guided (to verity) or will be of those who isn't guided.” (2741) He also ordered the jinns to make a palace with bottoms made of thin but solid glass, under through which gutters flowed.
When Bilkis arrived, her throne incontinently caught her attention. Having noticed Bilkis’s response to the throne, Sulaiman asked, “ is your throne like this?” Bilkis was completely confused. She wondered if her throne actually got then or if it was possible that someone replicated it. She replied cautiously, “ it is as though it was the veritably same.” Sulaiman judged her to be intelligent and politic so he also invited her to his palace. When Bilkis was about to enter she mistook the glass bottom for water and lifted her skirts. In the Quran it says, “ she allowed it was a body of water and uncovered her pins (to wade through). He said, “ Indeed, it's a palace (whose bottom is) made smooth with glass.” She said, “ My Lord, indeed I've wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (2744)
Bilkis realized that Sulaiman’s area was indeed unlike any palace she had seen ahead. She witnessed his wisdom and modesty along with his potent power and accepted him as the runner of Allah. She lamented and embraced Islam along with her nation.
PROPHET SULAIMAN ’S DEATH
Prophet Sulaiman lived and reigned in glory. Important of his public work was performed by the jinns as a discipline for making people believe that jinns had knowledge of the unseen. Sulaiman tutored his people that Allah alone had similar knowledge. Indeed Prophet Sulaiman’s death was a assignment in this regard.
The future isn't known neither by the jinns nor by the prophets, but by Allah alone.
Sulaiman was seated, holding his staff, while he oversee some jinns working in a mine. The jinns, who were scarified of Sulaiman, were heavily concentrated on the structure when Allah decided to take Sulaiman’s life.
No bone was apprehensive of his death, until days latterly, a empty ant began nibbling on his rustic staff. As it ate on, the staff broke and Prophet Sulaiman’s body that was leaning on it fell to the bottom. People ran to their Prophet, and soon realized that he'd failed long agone. Therefore everyone learned that had the jinns held the knowledge of the unseen, they would n’t have tortured themselves working hard, allowing Sulaiman was watching them. The life and death of Sulaiman is indeed full of cautions from which humanity can decide inconceivable assignments.
“ And when We ordered for Solomon death, nothing indicated to the jinn his death except a critter of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it came clear to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating discipline.” (3414)
