Prophet Hud A.S (Heber:
About Story: Prophet Hud A.S (Heber)
The people of' Announcement lived numerous times in the windswept hills of an area between Yemen and Oman. They were physically well- erected and renowned for their artificer especially in the construction of altitudinous structures with lofty halls. They were outstanding among all the nations in power and wealth, which, unfortunately, made them arrogant and boastful. Their political power was held in the hand of unjust autocrats, against whom no bone dared to raise a voice.
They weren't ignorant of the actuality of Allah, nor did they refuse to worship Him. What they did refuse was to worship Allah alone. They worshiped other gods, also, including icons. This is one sin Allah doesn't forgive.
Allah wanted to guide and punish these people, so He transferred a prophet from among them. This prophet was Hud, a noble man who handled his task with great decisiveness and forbearance.
Ibn Jarir reported that he was Hud Ibn Shalikh, Ibn Arfakhshand, Ibn Sam, Ibn Noah. ( i.e. 5th generation of Prophet Noah) He also reported that Prophet Hud was from a lineage called 'Ad Ibn' Uus Ibn Sam Ibn Noah, who were Arabs living in Al-Ahqaf in Yemen between Oman and Hadramaut, on a land called Ashar stretching out into the ocean. The name of their vale was Mughiith.
Some traditions claimed that Hud was the first person who spoke Arabic, while others claimed that Noah was the first. It was also said that Adam was the first.
Hud condemned hero deification and admonished his people "My people, what's the benefit of these monuments that you sculpt with your own hands and worship? In reality it's an personality to the intellect. There's only One Deity good of deification and that's Allah. Worship of Him, and Him alone, is mandatory on you.
"He created you, He provides for you and He's the One Who'll beget you to die. He gave you awful figures and blessed you in numerous ways. So believe in Him and don't be eyeless to His favors, or the same fate that destroyed Noah's people will catch you."
With similar logic Hud hoped to inseminate faith in them, but they refused to accept his communication. His people asked him" Do you desire to be our master with your call? What payment do you want?"
Hud tried to make them understand that he'd admit his payment ( price) from Allah; he didn't demand anything from them except that they let the light of verity touch their minds and hearts.
Allah the Almighty states And to' Announcement (people We transferred) their family Hud. He said, "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah ( god) but Him, Clearly, you do nothing but construct (lies)! O my people I ask of you no price for it (the Communication). My price is only from Him Who created me. Will you not also understand? And O my people! Ask remission of your Lord and also rue to Him, He'll shoot you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so don't turn away as Mujrimeen ( culprits, doubters in the Oneness of Allah)."
They said, "O Hud! No substantiation have you brought us, and we shall not leave our gods for your ( bare) saying! And we aren't religionists in you. All that we say is that some of our gods (false divinities) have seized you with wrong ( madness)."
He said I call Allah to witness and bear you substantiation that I'm free from that which you impute as mates in deification,-with Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There wasn't a moving (living) critter but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the verity). So if you turn down, still I've conveyed the Communication with which I was transferred to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you won't harm Him in the least. Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all effects."(1)
Hud tried to speak to them and to explain about Allah's blessings how Allah the Almighty had made them Noah's successors, how He'd given them strength and power, and how He transferred them rain to revive the soil.
Hud's people looked about them and plant they were the strongest on earth, so they came prouder and further obstinate. Therefore they argued a lot with Hud. They asked, "O Hud! Do you say that after we die and turn into dust, we will be revivified? "He replied "Yes, you'll come back on the Day of Judgment and each one of you'll be asked about what you did."
A clangor of horselaugh was heard after the last statement. "How strange Hud's claims are! "The doubters murmured among themselves. They believed that when man dies his body decays and turns into dust which is swept down by the wind. How could that return to its original state? Also what's the significance of the Day of Judgment? Why do the dead return to life?
All these questions were patiently entered by Hud. He also addressed his people concerning the Day of Judgment. He explained that belief in the Day of Judgment is essential to Allah's justice, tutoring them the same thing that every prophet tutored about it.
Hud explained that justice demands that there be a Day of Judgment because good isn't always victorious in life. Occasionally evil overpowers good. Will similar crimes go unpunished? If we suppose there's no Day of Judgment, also a great injustice will have prevailed, but Allah has interdicted injustice to be incurred by Himself or His subjects. Thus, the actuality of the Day of Judgment, a day of account for our deeds and being awarded or penalized for them, reveals the extent of Allah's justice. Hud spoke to them about all of these effects. They heeded but discredited him.
Allah recounts his people's station towards the Day of Judgment And the chiefs of his people, who discredited and denied the meeting in the Hereafter, and to who We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said" He's no more also a mortal being like you, he eats of that which eat, and drinks of what you drink. However, also verily! You indeed would be disasters, If you were to observe a mortal being like yourselves. Does he promise you that when you have failed and have come dust and bones, you shell come out alive ( revivified)? Far, veritably far, is that which you're promised. There's nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we aren't going to be revivified! He's only a man who has constructed a tarradiddle against Allah, but we aren't going to believe in him."(2)
The chiefs of Hud's people asked "Is it not strange that Allah chooses one of us to reveal His communication to?"
Hud replied "What's strange in that? Allah wants to guide you to the right way of life, so He transferred me to advise you. Noah's deluge and his story aren't far down from you, so don't forget what happed. All the doubters were destroyed, no matter how strong they were."
"Who's going to destroy us, Hud? "the chiefs asked.
"Allah," replied Hud.
The doubters among his people answered "We'll be saved by our gods."
Hud clarified to them that the gods they worshiped would be the reason for their destruction, that it's Allah alone Who saves people, and that no other power on earth can profit or harm anyone.
The conflict between Hud and his people continued. The times passed, and they came prouder, further obstinate, more tyrannical and more recalcitrant of their prophet's communication.
Likewise, they started to charge Hud of being a crazy lunatic. One day they told him "We now understand the secret of your madness you disrespected our gods and they harmed you; that's why you have come insane."
Almighty Allah repeated their words in the Qur'an Hud! No substantiation have you brought us, and we shall not leave our gods for your (mare) saying! And we aren't religionists in you. All that we say is that some of our gods (false divinities) have seized you with wrong ( madness)."(3)
Hud had to return their challenge. He'd no other way but to turn to Allah alone, no other volition but to give them a hanging claim. He declared to them "I call Allah to witness and bear you substantiation that I'm free from that which you impute as mates in deification with Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you and give me no respite. I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There isn't a moving (living) critter but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the verity). So if you turn down, still I've conveyed the communication with which I was transferred to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you won't harm Him."(4)
Therefore Hud renounced them and their gods and affirmed his dependence on Allah Who had created him. Hud realized that discipline would be incurred on the doubters among his people. It's one of the laws of life. Allah punishes the doubters, no matter how rich, tyrannical, or great they are.
Hud and his people awaited for Allah's pledge. A failure spread throughout the land, for the sky no longer transferred its rain. The sun scorched the desert beach, looking like a fragment of fire which settled on people's heads.
Hud's people whisked to him asking "What's that failure, Hud?"
Hud answered "Allah is angry with you. However, He'll accept you and the rain will fall and you'll come indeed stronger than you are, if you believe in Him."
They mocked him and came further obstinate, sardonic and perverse in their nonbelief. The failure increased, the trees turned unheroic, and shops failed.
A day came when they plant the sky full of shadows. Hud's people were glad as they came out of their canopies crying "A pall which will give us rain!"
The rainfall changed suddenly from burning dry and hot to surcharging cold, with wind that shook everything trees, shops, canopies, men and women. The wind increased day after day and night after night.
Hud's people started to flee. They ran to their canopies to hide, but the spasm came stronger, ripping their canopies from their stakes. They hid under cloth covers, but the spasm came stronger still and tore away the covers. It slashed apparel and skin. It entered the orifices of the body and destroyed it. It hardly touched anything before it was destroyed or killed, its core smelled out to putrefy and rot. The storm raged for eight days and seven nights.
Almighty Allah recounts Also, when they saw it as a thick pall coming towards their denes, they said "This is a pall bringing us rain! "Nay, but it's that ( torment) which you were asking to be whisked!-a wind wherein is a painful torment! Destroying everything by the command of its Lord! (5)
Allah the Exalted described it therefore And as for' Announcement,-they were destroyed by a furious violent wind which Allah assessed on them for seven nights and eight days in race, so that you could see men lying overthrown ( destroyed) as if they were concave caddies of win trees! (6)
.That violent spasm didn't stop until the entire region was reduced to remains and its wicked people destroyed, swallowed by the beach of the desert. Only Hud and his followers remained unharmed. They migrated to Hadhramaut and lived there in peace, worshiping Allah, their true Lord.
